Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis Greek pronunciation born October 1, 1969) is an American comedian, actor, musician, and writer. He was a part of the Comedy Central Presents special and hosted his own show Late World with Zach on VH1. Galifianakis is a regular in a number of films including The Hangover Trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010). The Campaign (2012), Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014) and Masterminds (2016). He voiced characters in animated films, including Puss in Boots (2011), The Lego Batman Movie (2017), Missing Link (2019), and Ron's Gone Missing (2021). Galifianakis is currently hosting the Funny or Die website talk show Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. Galifianakis has appeared in the FX series Baskets. He was nominated in 2017 for the Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actor in Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis was born in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, on the 1st October 1969. The child of the community arts center owner Mary Frances (nee Cashion) and heating oil merchant Harry Galifianakis. His mother is Scottish-Irish and English origin, and his paternal grandparents were Greek immigrants from Crete. He was baptized according the Greek Orthodox faith of his father. He has Merritt the younger sister of his along with Greg who is his older brother. The cousin of his Nick Galifianakis (Washington Post cartoonist) is his uncle. Galifianakis attended Wilkes Central High School. Then, he attended North Carolina State University and majored in communications. He was an operator of a radio station at an accessible public station while at college. In 1991, he was a teacher in the waltz class, where he was introduced to Mary J. Blige. Galifianakis was on Saturday Night Live two weeks after his TV debut on Boston Common. Galifianakis said he was a part-time employee for Saturday Night Live for two weeks. Britney Spears was the host during one of those weeks. Will Ferrell was scheduled to play the role of bodyguard to protect her belly button. Will and I were trying to shrink Will down to fit in the belly button. After I explained the idea to her, she simply looked at the sketch. Then she declared, "Yeah, that's funny." Galifianakis co-starred in the film Out Cold, and had minor parts in Corky Romano, Below, Bubble Boy, Heartbreakers, Into the Wild, Super High Me, Little Fish Strange Pond and Largo.
