Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush is an American pop music
boy band formed in 2009. The group consists of Kendall Schmidt and James Maslow
along with Logan Henderson and Carlos PenaVega. They signed initially with Nick
Records in 2009. Then, Columbia Records transferred them to their new label.
They appeared in Nickelodeon's telecast series, Big Time Rush. The show ran
from November 28, 2009 through July 25, 2013. The pilot episode showcased the
group's debut single as a promo, "Big Time Rush". The group released three
studio albums: BTR in 2010 and Elevate (2011), and 24/Seven (2013). In 2014,
the group was on break for an indefinite time that lasted until 2021. The group
resumed live performances and released "Call it Like I See It".
Nickelodeon has signed Big Time Rush a record deal in 2009 as they were
simultaneously airing the television series Big Time Rush. Then, Nickelodeon
partnered with Columbia/Epic Label Group to create the show and to include
original soundtrack to the show. The debut single, "Big Time Rush"
was featured on the show on November 29th, 2009. Officially announced by
Nickelodeon in November 2009, the show was first broadcast for the time in the
US. It then debuted internationally. It debuted during a one-hour special
preview of the series and it is the current theme for the show's opening. The
show also saw release of promotional singles such as "City is Ours"
and "Any Kind of Guy". Big Time Rush also remixed the Play song
"Famous", which was written by the singer. The song first came out on
iTunes on June 29th in 2010. After its series premiere another track,
"Halfway There", became available on iTunes on April 27 in 2010. The
song was quickly the first song to chart on Billboard Hot 100. Due to the sales
of digital music the track climbed to 93. The second single from Big Time Rush,
"Till You Forget About You" was released on the 21st of September in
2010. The purpose of the release was to announce the release of their debut
album. On October 11, 2010 the album, which was titled BTR was released to the
public. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. It sold 67,000
copies within its first week.
