Dolly Rebecca Parton

Dolly Rebecca Parton was created on the 19th of January 1946 in Pittman Center (Tennessee). She was born to Avie Lee Parton and Robert Lee Parton in Sevierville. Parton is a housewife and Parton is a farmer of tobacco. She appeared present on Knoxville TV at 12 years old. At 13 she recorded on a small label, and singing on the Grand Ole Opry. After graduating from high school in 1964, she relocated to Nashville for the start of her country-singing career. Carl Dean, an asphalt-paving entrepreneur, fell for her, and they were married on May 30th in 1966. Porter Wagoner saw her singing and hired her to appear on The Porter Wagoner Show (1961). The show aired for seven years, her duets gained fame and she was a part of the group that Porter Wagoner had at the Grand Ole Opry. She also sold records and toured. When her smash hit "Joshua" reached the top spot in the year 1970, her popularity had eclipsed hers and she branched on her own though still recording duets with his. She separated from him and became a solo artist in 1974. Dolly was a popular singer/songwriter. Dolly has won numerous Country Music Association awards (1968 1970, 1970, 1971 1975, 1976). The petite (5'0") beauty was a perfect fit for television. The mid-1970s saw her becoming a regular on TV. she was often appearing in TV specials and talk shows, and before having her own Dolly (1976). Dolly was awarded her first Grammy award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 1977 for "Here You Come Again". Dolly made her debut in a film in 9 to 5 in 1980. She received nominations for an Oscar for the title track, as well as Grammy awards 2/3: Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Her most well-known roles were in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982) and Rhinestone (1984) in which she sang "Tennessee Homesick Blues". Dolly Parton Enterprises, worth $100 million, is her biggest. Dollywood was established in Pigeon Forge in Tennessee in 1986 in celebration of her Smoky Mountain heritage. She starred as herself on the Dolly (1987) TV series. She also won a Grammy in 1988 for the Best Country Group/Performance Duo with Vocals for "Trio".
